One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to eat dinner together at the table more often. I hate to admit it, but we have been in the habit of having the kiddos eat at the table, while DH and I sit on the couch down stairs for a quieter dinner. If this was the first test, we would be getting a C…minus. We have been trying, but my headaches make it difficult to be successful. So often all I want is peace and quiet.
Last weekend we had dinner with our friend J&C and their boys. They do something, that we have adopted (or are trying to adopt) at the table each night. They call it “Best. Worst.” Each person shares the best thing from their day and the worst. It is a great way to check in with each family member. I LOVE IT!
“Best. Worst.” reminds me of “Two goods and a bad,” a sharing we did during my weekly Patient Care Group during school. I hope that we can be successful in implementing this at our house.
